About gotti

Gotti’s was founded in 2021 by Irv “Gotti” Williams, a native Houstonian and entrepreneur from Third Ward (Houston,Texas).

In a family filled with culinary excellence, Irv’s love for Creole & Cajun food came naturally and heavily influenced the tastes you will experience at Gotti’s. Irv’s parents are third-generation Houstonians with ancestry and heritage from Louisiana and Mississippi.

Irv attended Texas Southern University and was actively involved in the Jessie H. Jones School of Business, where he networked and built relationships with local business leaders. While utilizing his advanced computer and programming skills, Irv began to thrive around campus and affectionately gained the nickname “Irv Gotti”.

After college, Irv worked as a Software Engineer and traveled the world for a global engineering and procurement firm.  He also excelled in corporate America at a leading cloud-based ERP firm until he pursued his dream of owning a family-run restaurant.

Gotti’s Restaurant is a local spin on Cajun & Creole cuisine and reflects Irv’s culinary palette as a native Houstonian. At Gotti’s, you will experience a casual atmosphere with graffiti-laced walls to match our food’s vibrant tastes.

Our speciality is Southern and Cajun delicacies such as fried catfish, shrimp and grits, chicken fried chicken, fried lobster, cornbread hushpuppies, and a few soul food dishes.

Gotti’s is the only 100% black-owned restaurant in EADO (East Downtown) and is nestled next to the Shell Soccer Stadium, a few blocks from Minute Maid Park.
